Description

An explanation of AF assist beam operation on the EOS D60

Solution

In dark locations, pressing the shutter button down halfway causes the AF-assist beam emitter to light. The AF-assist beam helps the AF function.
  • The built-in AF-assist beam's maximum range is 3.8 meters /12.5 ft.
  • When an EX-series external Canon Speedlite (optional) is used, the AF-assist beam will be emitted either by the camera or external Speedlite depending on the shooting conditions.
  • In the <> and <> modes, the AF-assist lamp will not light.
