Resolve Beeps or Error Codes on a BJC-7000 or BJC-8000 Printer

Learn what to do if your BJC-7000 or BJC-8000 printer beeps and the error light is orange.

Solution

If you have an error on your machine, count the number of beeps, then refer to the table below for solutions.

Number of beeps Cause Solution

The paper is out.

The paper is jammed.

There is a paper feed error.

  • Set the paper correctly.
     
  • If there is a paper jam in the printer, remove the jam, then tap Resume.

The black ink has run out.

  • Replace the Black BC-60 cartridge.

The color or photo ink is out.

  • Replace the Color BJ cartridge BC-61 or the Photo BJ cartridge BC-62.

There is a BJ cartridge error.

  • One or of the BJ cartridges may not be installed correctly.
     
  • Remove and reinstall the cartridges.

Waste ink tank nearly full.

  • Tap Resume to skip the error so you can continue printing.

There is a BJ cartridge temperature error.

  • The printer has overheated.
     
  • Cancel the print job and wait a few minutes for the print head to cool down, then tap Resume.

8 (or more)

There is a service error.

  1. Turn the printer OFF, unplug the power cord and wait a few minutes.

  2. Plug the printer back in and turn it ON.

If the error continues, the machine may need service.
