Fan paper thoroughly

Fan paper prior to inserting it into the Auto Sheet Feeder (ASF) or the cassette.

Auto Sheet Feeder (ASF):

  1. Remove paper from the ASF.

  2. Fan out the sheets of paper so that they do not stick together.

  3. Align the edges of the paper.


  4. Insert the stack of paper (print side up) back into the ASF (1).

  5. Pinch the paper guide (A) and adjust it to the width of the stack (2).


    * Make sure the stack does not exceed the paper limit mark (B).
    * Make sure paper is not not laying over the area marked by (C).

  6. Press <OK> to clear any messages on the display.

  7. If printing from an application, follow the instructions displayed on the computer monitor.

Cassette:

  1. Remove the cassette.


  2. Remove paper from the cassette.

  3. Fan out the sheets of paper so that they do not stick together.

  4. Align the edges of the paper.


  5. Load the stack of paper into the cassette with the print side facing down (1). Grasp the paper guide (A) and align it to the left edge of the paper stack (2). Align the front edge of the paper stack in the same way (3).


    * Make sure the stack does not exceed the paper limit mark (B).

  6. Press <OK> to clear any messages on the display.

  7. If printing from an application, follow the instructions displayed on the computer monitor.
