Description

If you are experiencing difficulties in powering your printer on, updating the firmware may resolve the problem.

Solution

If your printer sometimes does not power on, it may be in need of a firmware update.

The firmware version is provided on the printout when performing a Nozzle Check Pattern.  In order to print the Nozzle Check, follow the procedure below.

  1. Unplug the printer power cord from the Printer.

  2. Wait for 2 minutes or longer.

  3. Reinsert the power cord into the Printer.

  4. Press the ON button located on the front panel.

  5. Perform a Nozzle Check.

  6. Check the Firmware Version.  The Firmware version is printed below the printed Nozzle Check Pattern, underneath the number of pages. It is printed in the format "Ver.  x.xxx" where "x" denotes a digit 0 through 9.
