The term "auto zoom" represents a zoom lens operating system that automatically extends a zoom lens according to a previously assigned image size or other zooming factors.
The expression "power zoom" or "auto zoom" is also applied to the vari-focal type optics which cannot keep a sharp focus on the film plane during the focal length altering movement.
