Description

Shooting and Playback with Movie Digest (PowerShot D30)

Solution

You can make a short movie of a day just by shooting still images.
Before each shot, the camera will automatically record a movie clip of the scene. Each clip recorded that day is combined into a single file.
IMPORTANT
  • Clips may not be recorded if you shoot a still image immediately after turning the camera on, choosing (Movie Digest) [ ] mode, or operating the camera in other ways.
  • Battery life is shorter in this mode than in [ ] mode, because clips are recorded for each shot.
  • Sounds and vibrations from operating the camera will be recorded in digest movies.

Shooting

1. Turn the camera on.

2. Press the < > button.

3. Press the <><> buttons to select the second [Shooting Mode] from the bottom.
*If the initial settings have not been changed, [Movie Digest] () will be displayed.

4. Multiple icons are displayed in the middle of the screen. Press the < ><> buttons to choose [Movie Digest] ().
Press the <FUNC./SET> () button.

5. Shoot.
NOTE
  • [Movie Digest] () mode movie quality is [ ] and cannot be changed.
  • Clips are saved as separate movie files in the following cases even if they were recorded on the same day in [Movie Digest] () mode:
- The movie file size reaches about 4 GB or the total recording time reaches approx. 1 hour.
- The movie is protected.
- Daylight saving time or time zone settings are changed.
- A new folder is created.
  • Sounds are not played when you press the shutter button halfway, use camera controls, or trigger the self-timer.

Playback

Short movies created in [Movie Digest] () mode can be viewed by date.

1. Press the <Playback> () button on the camera.

2. Press the <FUNC./SET> () button.

3. Press the <><> buttons to select [Movie Digest Playback] ().
After the settings are completed, press the <FUNC./SET> () button.
