Solution

You can use the machine to print photos on a memory card or USB flash drive, make copies, or scan originals without a computer.

You can also make good use of the various functions of the machine using the operation panel starting from the HOME screen on the LCD.

The HOME screen consists of four screens. You can use the Up or Down button (A) to switch between them. Each screen provides menus for making copies, printing photos, scanning originals, etc.

To select a menu on each screen, use the left, center, or right Function button (B).

The buttons lit on the operation panel depend on the screen being displayed. To aid operation, only buttons available for the current screen light up.

To select a button, touch it lightly with your finger tip.

On the menu screen or settings screen, use the Up, Down, Left, or Right button (Scroll Wheel) (C) to select an item or option, then touch the OK button (D) to proceed with the procedure.

To return to the previous screen, touch the Back button (E).

 Important

Notes on using the operation panel

Do not place any object (especially metallic objects or objects containing moisture) on the operation panel. Doing so may cause the machine to malfunction.

Precious metals, such as in rings and bracelets, may cause malfunction of the machine. When using the operation panel, keep such metals at least 0.8 inches (2 cm) away from the operation panel.

 Note

The display of the buttons on the operation panel will turn off if the machine is not operated for about 5 minutes. To restore the display, touch any button except the ON button. This will let the LCD turn on, and available buttons light. Performing a print operation from a PC, etc. will also restore the display.

Using the Function Buttons

When you select a menu on the HOME screen, function menus (F) will appear where required at the bottom of the screen. Touching a corresponding Function button (G), (H), or (I) displays its function, such as a settings screen.

The number of function menus and their contents vary depending on the screen. Check the function menus displayed at the bottom of the screen, then select the one desired.

Example: Photo selection screen in Select photo print

(G) Touch the left Function button to select View/mode. The Change view/mode screen will appear.

Two types of control are available on the Up, Down, Left, or Right button (Scroll Wheel).

(J) Touch the Up, Down, Left, or Right button to select items.

Or

Be careful not to trace your finger along the Scroll Wheel when you touch the Up, Down, Left, or Right button.
