Solution

Perform Print Head Alignment

Prior to aligning the print head, make sure paper is stacked in the multi-purpose tray and the ink tanks are properly seated and contain ink.

  1. Press the <Additional Functions> button on the operation panel.

  2. Press the left [<] or right [>] arrow keys to select [MAINTENANCE].

  3. Press the <Set> button.

  4. Press [<] or [>] to select [ALIGN PRINT HEAD].

  5. Press <Set>.

  6. Review the printout for the pattern and notice the patterns that have the most solid image.


  7. To the left of the pattern with the most solid box, is a value. The values range from +7 at the top to -3 at the bottom.

  8. On the operator panel, press [<] or [>] to scroll to the number that matches the value on the printed pattern for column A.

  9. Press <Set> to select the most solid pattern. [Change H Value] will appear. This time for column B.

  10. Continue to change horizontal alignment for columns B through K by pressing [<] or [>] and then pressing <Set> to select the value.

  11. After the print head align is complete, the display will return to standby mode.
