If you have difficulty printing from your computer, the computer and or the MultiPASS may need to be reset.
  1. Save and close the document you were working on.

  2. Shut down the computer and press the <ON/OFF> button on the MultiPASS.

  3. Disconnect and reconnect ends of the printer interface cable to make sure it is firmly seated.

  4. Press the <ON/OFF> button on your MultiPASS, wait until a display appears and then turn on the computer.

  5. Attempt to print again.

If the MultiPASS will not print after resetting the computer and the unit, confirm the MultiPASS Printer Driver is installed.

  1. From the application's 'File' menu, click 'Print', select the MultiPASS Printer Driver, make any necessary print option settings and click 'OK'.

  2. If the MultiPASS Printer Driver does not appear in the printer drop down list, then install just the printer driver from the Canon MultiPASS Suite CD-ROM.

  3. To install just the MultiPASS Printer Driver, save the document you want to print, close all running applications, and insert the Canon MultiPASS Suite CD-ROM into your CD drive. The setup program may start automatically.
  1. If the setup program starts automatically, click 'Exit' to close the window.
  1. Open Control Panel by clicking 'Start', 'Settings' and then 'Control Panel'.

  2. At Control Panel screen, double-click Add/Remove Programs.

  3. At Add/Remove Programs Properties screen, select 'Canon MultiPASS Suite' and then click the 'Add/Remove' button.

  4. At the InstallSheild Wizard dialog, confirm 'Repair' radio button is selected and then click 'Next'.

  5. At the InstallShield Wizard - Repair Complete dialog, click 'Finish'.

  6. Close the Add/Remove Programs Properties and Control Panel screens.

If the MultiPASS still does not print after installing the MultiPASS Printer, set the MultiPASS Spool Settings to 'Print directly to the printer'.

  1. Open the Printers folder by clicking 'Start', 'Settings' and then 'Printers'.

  2. Right-click on the MultiPASS Printer icon.

  3. Select 'Properties'.

  4. Click the Details tab, and then 'Spool Settings' (this is where to change the Spool Settings).

  5. Click the 'Print directly to the printer' radio button and then click 'OK' to close the Spool Settings window.

  6. At the MultiPASS Printer Properties screen, click 'OK'.

  7. Close the Printers folder and then attempt to print again.

If changing the spool settings did not clear the message, delete the MultiPASS Printer Driver and all temporary (TMP) files on your computer's hard drive.

  1. To delete temporary files on Windows 98 and above, click 'Start', 'Programs' or 'All Programs', 'Accessories', 'System Tools' and then 'Disk Cleanup'.
  1. If more than one hard drive is installed, select the appropriate drive clicking 'Drives' drop-down arrow and then clicking 'OK'.
  1. At Disk Cleanup screen, confirm 'Temporary files' check box is checked and then click 'OK'.

  2. At 'Disk Cleanup to permanently delete the selected files', click 'Yes'.

  3. Insert the Canon MultiPASS Suite CD-ROM into your CD drive. The setup program may start automatically.
  1. If the setup program does start automatically, click 'Exit' to close the window.
  1. Open Control Panel by clicking 'Start', 'Settings' and then 'Control Panel'.

  2. At Control Panel screen, double-click the Printers folder icon.

  3. In Printers screen, select the MultiPASS Printer icon and press the 'Delete' key. Confirm the deletion to clear the window.

  4. Close the Printers screen.

  5. At Control Panel screen, double-click Add/Remove Programs.

  6. At Add/Remove Programs Properties screen, select 'Canon MultiPASS Suite' and then click the 'Add/Remove' button.

  7. At the InstallSheild Wizard dialog, confirm 'Repair' radio button is selected and then click 'Next'.

  8. At the InstallShield Wizard - Repair Complete dialog, click 'Finish'.
