Learn how to print the nozzle check pattern from the PIXMA G620 using a Mac. If you're experiencing poor print quality (banded / streaked prints, incorrect colors, blank pages), a nozzle check pattern will help you determine if any print head nozzles are clogged.

Solution

Printing a Nozzle Check Pattern from a Mac

The nozzle check function allows you to check whether the print head is working properly by printing a nozzle check pattern. Print the pattern if printing results are not satisfactory, or if a specific color fails to print.

Nozzle Check

  1. With the printer powered on, select Utilities from the Remote UI.

  2. Click Nozzle Check.

  3. Load one sheet of A4 size or Letter size plain paper into the rear tray.

  4. Click Yes. The nozzle check pattern will be printed.

  5. When the dialog opens, check the print result. If the print result is normal, click All A.

If the print result is smudged or if there are any unprinted sections, click Also B to clean the print head.
