Software installation
You need to install some drivers and use a software tool to configure the connection.
If you don't have the CD-ROM that came with your printer, or if you want the latest software:
Check that your operating system version is correctly detected by the website -- set it if not.
For Mac OS X 10.9 / 10.10 / 10.11: From the Recommended Downloads tab, install the Scanner Driver and the CUPS Printer driver. From the Drivers tab, download the ICA driver. From the Software tab, download the IJ Network Tool. Open the installer files and follow any on-screen instructions to complete the installation of each driver or program.
Connect to the network
After installing the drivers and software on your OSX system, press the Menu button on the printer.
Make sure your computer is on the same wireless network as the printer.
Run the printer setup software and select Change Connection Method.
Select Network Connection -> Wireless Network -> Connect to the network.
Use the arrows to select WLAN setup and press OK. If you receive a message stating that a WPS compatible access point is available, press the WPS buttons on the printer and the router.
If you WPS is not available, press OK on Standard setup. Select your network and press OK.
Go to Printers & Scanners in System Preferences and click the + sign to add a printer.
Wait for the Canon IJ Network listing for your printer to appear and add it.
Print a test page.
After printing a test page to confirm network functionality, open the IJ Scan Utility, located in Applications\Canon Utilities\Canon IJ Scan Utility. Change the Product Name in the drop down menu to the MX920 Series Network listing.
