Learn how to use the Wi-Fi Connection Assistant on a Windows PC to connect your printer to a wireless network via Easy Wireless Connect (also known as Cableless Setup).

Solution

You can use the Wi-Fi Connection Assistant with a Windows PC to connect your printer to a wireless network. Follow the steps below to connect your printer to a wireless network using Easy Wireless Connect (Cableless Setup) and the Wi-Fi Connection Assistant.

  1. Place your printer into Easy Wireless Connect (Cableless Setup) mode. Select your model from the drop-down menus for information.

  2. Start the Wi-Fi Connection Assistant.

  3. Select Printer Network Setup.

    Click Printer Network Setup (outlined in red)

  4. Select the printer in the list that shows Requires Setup for Status.

  5. Select Network Settings... from the Printer Settings menu.

  6. Click Search....

  7. Select your network from the list, then click Set.

  8. Click Set.

  9. When the confirmation message appears, click OK.

  10. When the printer list appears, select Update from the View menu.

  11. After a few moments, the printer list will be updated and the printer you configured for wireless use will now show in the list that it is connected to your wireless network.

The printer is connected to your wireless network. If you have not already done so, you'll need to download the drivers and software for your printer from our website.
