If you are using a mobile device (iOS or Android) or a Chromebook, you can clean the paper feed roller for the PIXMA iP8720 using its Remote UI.  This requires that the printer and mobile device or Chromebook be connected to the same wireless network.  Follow the steps below to clean the paper feed roller from the Remote UI.

1. Print a Network Configuration Page (also known as LAN details page).
    
2. Using a web browser on your mobile device or Chromebook, go to the IPv4 IP address for the printer.
    
3. From the menu, tap or click on Utilities.
   
   
    
4. Tap or click on Roller cleaning.
   
   
    
5. Tap or click on Yes.
   
   
    
6. Remove any paper loaded in the iP8720.  Then, tap or click on OK.
   
   
   
   The cleaning process will start.
   
   
    
7. After the cleaning has stopped, you will be prompted to load three or more sheets of A4 or Letter size plain paper.  Load three sheets of paper into the printer, then tap or click on OK.
   
   
   
   
   
   The paper will be fed through, one sheet at a time.
    
8. Tap or click on Done.
