Description

How Shutter Priority (Tv) mode works on the EOS 1D

Solution

In this mode, you set the desired shutter speed and the camera sets the aperture automatically to suit the subject brightness.

A fast shutter speed can freeze motion, and a slow shutter speed can blur it.

* Tv is an abbreviation for Time value.

While pressing the <MODE> button, turn the <> dial until <Tv> appears on the LCD panel. Then release the <MODE> button.

Turn the <> dial to set the desired shutter speed.

Press the shutter button halfway and focus the subject.

  • The shutter speed and aperture will be displayed.

Take the picture.

  • As long as the aperture display is not blinking, a standard exposure will be obtained.
