Reseat the Print head

Reseating the print head is seldomly required to do.

  1. Make sure the printer is powered on.

  2. Press the <Open> button (1), and then lift up the scanning unit (2).

    The print head holder automatically moves to the center of the machine.


    CAUTION:
    * Do not try to move or stop the print head holder manually.
    * Do not touch any metal parts.


  3. Lift up the locking lever, and then remove the print head. The print head can be removed with the ink tank still inside.


  4. Replace the print head, and then press down on the locking lever.


  5. Close the scanner unit.

  6. When the LCD displays the following, press the <Set> button.



    The machine will print a horizontal line pattern, and the LCD will display the following:


  7. In column A on the printout, note which box has the most solid image. Note the value next to this box and use the [<] or [>] button on the operation panel to enter it. Then press the <Set> button.




  8. Repeat step 7 for columns B to F.

  9. After values have been entered for all columns and you are prompted to [PRINT VERT. PATTERN], press the <#> end print head alignment and to return to standby mode.
