Solution

Error messages displayed on the TV

 

If an error message is displayed on the TV, take the corresponding countermeasure described below.

 

No paper.

 

When no paper is set or fed in/from the auto sheet feeder, set paper properly, and press the <Resume/Cancel> button.

 

 

Paper jam.

 

Remove the jammed paper from the displayed part, set new paper, and press the <Resume/Cancel> button.

 

Ink tank not installed.

 

The ink tank is not installed. Install it.

 

 

Print head not installed .

 

1) Install the print head.

 

2) If the print head is installed, remove it, and re-set it.

 

3) While the print head is installed, power the printer off, and power it back on. Even after performing this, if the error persists, the print head may be damaged.

 

 

Waste ink absorber almost full.

 

Press the <Resume/Cancel> button to recover from the error.
Printing is possible for a while but becomes impossible when the waste ink absorber becomes full. In this case, replacement of the waste ink absorber* is needed.

 

* A part inside the printer which absorbs ink used in the cleaning operations, etc.

 

 

Cannot communicate with a connected device.

 

1) When printing with a camera that supports PictBridge, some models require setting the camera in a print mode that complies with PictBridge before the camera is connected to the printer. The camera should also be turned on, or Play mode should be selected manually, after connecting the camera to the printer. For more details, please refer to the camera instructions.

 

2) A digital camera/video camera which does not support Camera Direct Printing, or a device other than a digital camera/video camera is connected.
Remove the connected device, and press the <Resume/Cancel> button.

 

 

No photos stored in memory card.

 

1) Image data is not stored in the memory card set.

 

2) If double-byte characters (Kanji, Japanese phonetic symbols, etc.) are included in the image file name (folder name), they may not be recognized.
Change the double-byte characters used into single-byte alphanumeric characters.

 

3) Photo data edited/processed on the computer should be printed from the computer, not from the camera.

 

 

No photos in data received via infrared.

 

Moving images or non-JPEG file format images cannot be received/printed.

 

 

Error.

 

Error 5100 has occurred. Confirm the following.

 

 

1) The print head lock lever may not be set properly.
Set the print head lock lever properly by following the procedures below.

 

1-1. Turn the printer off, slide the cover open switch to the right, and open the cover.

 

1-2. If the print head is not at the center, move it to the center by hand.

 

 

1-3. Push the print head lock lever firmly until you hear it click.

1-4. Close the cover, and turn the printer on again.

 

2) When the print head lock lever is set properly, turn the printer off, remove the power plug from the outlet, plug it in again, and turn the printer on.


If the problem persists even after doing this, the printer may require repair.
