Cause
The printer has detected that the estimated remaining ink in one or more of the ink tanks may have reached the lower limit line shown on the ink tank.
What to Do
The action you should take to resume operating the printer depends upon which function(s) of the printer you intend to use.
1. To PRINT or COPY
If you intend to PRINT or COPY, you should take one of the following steps:
(a) Tap [OK] on the printer.
If there is some residual amount of ink in the tank(s), you will be able to PRINT or COPY until the remaining ink is depleted.
However, the printer may become impossible to print even after refilling it with ink.
In this case, please note that the printer may consume excess ink as it attempts to return to printable status.
OR
(b) To stop the caution that the estimated remaining ink level is empty, refill the relevant color of ink to the line described below;
Black: about half level of the ink tank
Other colors: about one third level of the ink tank
The estimated remaining ink level display function in this printer is designed to work properly on the assumption that the ink tanks are refilled to upper limit line.
If you want this function to work properly, refill the ink tanks to upper limit line in accordance with the procedures set forth in the manual.
Then, tap [OK] on the printer.
2. To SCAN or FAX
If you intend to SCAN or FAX, you should take one of the following steps:
(a) Tap [OK] on the printer.
You will be able to SCAN or FAX.
OR
(b) To stop the caution that the estimated remaining ink level is low, refill the relevant color of ink to the line described below;
Black: about half level of the ink tank
Other colors: about one third level of the ink tank
The estimated remaining ink level counter in this printer is designed to work properly on the assumption that the ink tanks are refilled to upper limit line.
If you want this function to work properly, refill the ink tanks to upper limit line in accordance with the procedures set forth in the manual.
Then, tap [OK] on the printer.
