Description

This chart contains a list of error codes, the associated error message and solutions the Canon MF Scan Utility may give.

The error codes follow the folowing format. 9,###,#. e.g. 9,230,0 or 9,244,2

The chart below references only the middle three digits of the error codes.

Solution

Error Code Error Message Solution
66 Paper was added to the ADF while scanning. Wait until the current job is complete before adding paper to the ADF.
152 There is not enough memory. Exit other applications to increase available memory. The memory required to start MF Scan Utility cannot be obtained; exit other applications.
162 The device is busy with another job (print/copy/scan). Wait until the current job is complete then start the scan job again.
201 A required file is missing or corrupted, or settings ar in correct.
Try the installation again.
Delete MF Drivers, then reinstall MP Drivers from the Setup CD-ROM or our website.
202 An internal error has occurred. Restart the computer, then try again. An internal error has occurred. Restart the computer, then try again.
230 A scanner driver supporting this software is not installed. Install it and try again. Reinstall MF Drivers from the Setup CD-ROM or our website.
231 Cannot complete the scan. The disk space is insufficient. Delete unnecessary files on the hard disk and scan again.
242 Cannot write file. Check the access permission on the folder in Folder to Save Temporary Files in the Settings (General Settings) dialog box or Save in in the corresponding Settings dialog box.
243 Cannot read file Check the access permission on the folder in Folder to Save Temporary Files in the Settings (General Settings) dialog box or Save in in the corresponding Settings dialog box.
244 You do not have the required privileges to access the specified folder. Grant access permission to the specified folder.
245 Text could not be detected. Make sure that the following conditions do not apply.
- The Document Language setting does not match the document language.
- There is no text in the document.
- Text that is not supported for detection is scanned.
Make sure the Document Language in the Settings (General Settings) dialog box matches the document language.
Make sure there is text in the document.
