Set RX (Receive) Start Speed to a slower setting (FAX-JX210P)

Description

Set the speed at which the fax starts receiving (RX). Set this to a lower speed if you have difficulties receiving faxes due to noise or static on the phone line.

Solution

RX Start Speed

If phone line conditions are less than perfect, transmission (send) and reception (receive) problems can occur. Decrease the reception (RX or receive) speed if frequent fax transaction error messages appear on the LCD.

  1. <Menu>.

  2. Use to select [DATA REGSTRATION], then press <Start/Copy>. The LCD displays [USER SETTINGS].

  3. Use to scroll through the menus and select [SYSTEM SETTINGS].

  4. Press <Start/Copy>.

  5. Use to select [RX START SPEED].

  6. Press <Start/Copy>. The factory default RX (send) Speed is 14400 bps.

  7. Use to display the desired RX Speed.

    You can select from the following RX Speeds:
    14400 bps
    9600 bps
    7200 bps
    4800 bps

  8. Press <Start/Copy>.

  9. Press <Stop/Reset> to return to standby mode.
