Solution

Change Paper Size / Media Type

You can change the print settings such as the paper size and media type when in Copy mode.

  1. Confirm that the printer is powered on and open the paper output tray.


    The illustration shows an MP170.

  2. Load paper in the auto sheet feeder (ASF) with the short-side down.

  3. Lift the document cover and place a document on the platen glass.

    Note:
    * Regardless of the document size, place it with the long-side toward you.
    * Place the document face down on the platen glass.
    * Align the document with the alignment mark (shown as the arrow) on the lower right corner of the platen glass.
    * The machine cannot scan the area within approximately 3 mm of the front and right edges of the platen glass.

  4. Gently close the document cover.

  5. Press the <Paper> button repeatedly until the preferred paper size and type is illuminated. The options are as follows:

    8.5" x 11"
    Plain Paper

    8.5" x 11"
    Photo Paper

    4" x 6"
    Photo Paper

  6. Press the <+> button to select the number of copies. (The maximum number of copies is 9.)

  7. To start copying, press the <Color> or <Black> button.

  8. To cancel copying, press the <Stop/Reset> button.
