Description

When printing in My Image Garden with AirPrint drivers on certain models, several print options may be missing.  This can make certain things, such as disc label printing, harder to accomplish.  This article explains what you can do if you have trouble printing in My Image Garden when AirPrint drivers are used.

Solution

If you are using an AirPrint driver for your printer with your Mac, you will see the following message the first time you want to print with My Image Garden.

If you click OK to proceed, you will be asked to choose the number of copies you wish to print:

You will then see a Print dialog window that looks similar to what you will find in other programs for your Mac.

Print quality may not be optimal when using this driver.  It is recommended to use the CUPS driver for your printer if your model has such drivers available.  Some models, such as the PIXMA TR7520 or PIXMA TS9120, do not have such drivers available.  To see a list of models that print via AirPrint only, please click here.

After the driver has been installed, click on the Apple menu and click System Preferences.  Click Printers & Scanners and add in your printer.

After selecting your printer from the list, make sure that Use shows the model number of your printer.  Click Add.

After your printer has been added to the printer list, open My Image Garden.  Click the My Image Garden menu at the top of the screen.  Click Preferences.

When the Preferences window appears, there will be a check in the box for Print/scan using AirPrint.  Remove the check from this box and then click OK.

In prior versions of My Image Garden, this option was known as Print/scan using the operating system's default function.

You may have to re-select the image(s) you wish to print.

After you have done this, you will have more options available when you wish to print.

After your options have been set, click Print.

A message will appear after you have clicked the Print button.  Click OK on this message.

Click the Print button on the Print dialog window that appears to begin printing.
