In some cases, you'll need to use a USB Cable to set up a wireless connection. This can happen if other methods of connecting your printer don't work.
Before you begin
Before you continue, you must gather the following information which will be required during the installation.

The name of your wireless network. This could also be called an Router Name or SSID.

Your Wi-Fi® password, also called a Network Key, or a passphrase
Refer to the instruction manual for your wireless router, or contact their manufacturer for help.
Connect the computer to the Internet and quit all applications before you begin the installation.
Start setup
- Download and install the following items from the Canon USA website:

CUPS printer driver

Scanner driver
-
IJ Network Tool
You can also download and install the Quick Menu (shortcut launcher) and My Image Garden (printing and scanning documents and images), but those programs aren't required to perform this setup.

After you install the printer driver and the IJ Network Tool, connect the printer to your computer with a USB cord.

In Finder, select Go and Applications and open the Canon Utilities folder. Then open the Canon IJ Network Tool folder and double-click on the Canon IJ Network Tool.
- Select Use the printer on the network, then select OK.
- If the following image appears, connect the printer and computer with a USB cable and select the OK button.

Select on the printer, then tap OK. The computer will communicate with the printer via USB.

At the Confirm Connection Wireless Router window, confirm that your network name appears and select Yes.
- The program will ask you to allow access to the network key stored in the keychain. Select Allow.
- Enter the user account name and / or password for the computer if prompted.
- The computer sends the network information to the printer via USB.
- It will then attempt to locate the printer on the network.
- Once found, the Setup Completion window appears. Follow the instructions in the window and then select OK.
- The Add window appears. Wait for the Canon IJ Network listing of the printer to appear.
- Select it and make sure that the Use field at the bottom indicates Canon MG3200 Series. Tap Add.
- You may receive a prompt similar to this:
- If so, go into System Preferences and Print and Fax / Print and Scan / Printers and Scanners and remove the USB listing for your printer. It will show as being offline.
- If you don't remove it, you may receive an error message telling you that your printer is offline when you attempt to print.
