Learn how to troubleshoot the Specified Driver is Invalid error.

Solution

If you experience an error that says 0x000007d1: The specified driver is invalid or a similar error, follow the steps below to attempt to resolve it.

  1. Uninstall the drivers for your printer.

  2. Press and hold the Windows key  key and type R. In the Run box, type control printers and click OK.

  3. Right click on the icon for your printer. In the pop-up menu, click Remove device. Click Yes to confirm.

  4. Click on any other printer icon in the window. Then, click Print server properties near the top of the window.

  5. Click the Drivers tab. Click on the listing for your printer. Then, click Remove... and select Remove driver and driver package.

    Click Yes to confirm.

  6. After removing the driver and the driver package, reboot the PC and reinstall the drivers. The latest drivers for your printer are available from our website.
