Description

This article explains actions that can be taken by the end user for various system errors.

The first four digits are the main error code, the second four are the sub code.

Solution

For all service errors turn off the main power switch to the unit. Unplug the printer and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Plug the printer directly to a wall outlet, and power the printer back on. If the error does not clear, try to update the firmware on the device.

If you cannot resolve an issue by yourself, or the issue keeps occuring your machine may need service.

Do not attempt to repair the machine by yourself. 

Contact the Canon Customer Care Center at 1-800-OK-Canon, Monday through Friday.

When calling Canon please have the following information ready.
  • Product name
  • Details about your problem
  • Serial number (found on a silver label on the back fo the machine)
