About Speed Dial Utility

Speed Dial Utility is application that lets you use your computer to manage fax and telephone numbers on the machine. To do this you must install the software and drivers on your computer and be connected via USB. You can register numbers, names, and rejected numbers. You can also save a backup to the computer.
  1. Turn on the machine and your computer.
  2. Check to make sure they are connected via USB.
  3. At your computer, start Speed Dial Utility.

Make a backup

  1. Make sure no faxes are in progress.
  2. Start Speed Dial Utility if it isn't already running.
  3. Select the machine from the Printer Name list box, then select Display Printer Settings.
  4. Select Save to PC...
  5. Enter the file name on the screen, then select Save.

Restore a backup to the printer

  1. Make sure no faxes are in progress.
  2. Start Speed Dial Utility if it isn't already running.
  3. Select the machine from the Printer Name list box, then select Display Printer Settings.
  4. Select Load from PC...
  5. Select the backup file. It has a .rsd extension.
  6. Select Open.
  7. Select Register to Printer

Register numbers with Speed Dial Utility

  1. Make sure no faxes are in progress.
  2. Start Speed Dial Utility if it isn't already running.
  3. Select the machine from the Printer Name list box, then select Display Printer Settings.
  4. Click TEL Number Registration from Setting Item ist. The list of registered numbers is displayed.
  5. Select an unoccupied code from the list or select an occupied code that you want to change, and then select Edit...  
  6. Select Register individual TEL number or Register group dial, then select Next.
    • For individuals, enter the name and number, and then select OK.
    • For groups, enter the name, add individuals from the list of registered numbers, and then select OK.
  7. Select Register to Printer to send the new groups or individuals to the printer memory.
  8. Confirm the message on the screen, then select OK.

Delete a number with Speed Dial Utility

  1. Make sure no faxes are in progress.
  2. Start Speed Dial Utility if it isn't already running.
  3. Select the machine from the Printer Name list box, then select Display Printer Settings.
  4. Select a code to remove and then click Delete.
  5. Select Register to Printer to send the new groups or individuals to the printer memory.
  6. Confirm the message on the screen, then select OK.

Manage rejected numbers with Speed Dial Utility

  1. Make sure no faxes are in progress.
  2. Start Speed Dial Utility if it isn't already running.
  3. Select the machine from the Printer Name list box, then select Display Printer Settings.
  4. Select Rejected Number Setting from the Setting Item List. The list of rejected numbers is displayed.
    • To add a number for rejection, select an unoccupied code and then select Edit. Enter the number and select OK.
    • To change a number for rejection, select a number and then select Edit. Enter the number and select OK.
    • To remove a number, select it in the list and then select Delete
