Using the Image Stabilizer Mode When using a tripod, the Image Stabilizer should be turned off to save battery power. The stabilizer is equally effective for hand-held photography and photography with a monopod. The Image Stabilizer function also operates when the lens is used with Extension Tube EF12 II or EF25 II If you set the camera's Custom Function to change the assigned button to operate the AF, the Image Stabilizer will operate when you press the newly assigned AF button.

We have defined the optical Nyquist frequency for a 4 K S 35 mm lens. It means that this lens needs to be able to pass through its entire optical system 80 black and white lines within every millimeter of the image size defined in Figure 1. To get a sense of the high demand of a 4K lens we show in Figure 2 below what 80 line pairs looks like.
