At NAB 2014 Grass Valley ignited the 4K 2/3-inch movement with the unanticipated showing of a prototype of what is now the LDX 86 Universe three-CMOS sensor camera system that has the ability to switch the camera from 4K UHD 1X operation to HD 6X extreme-speed operation. This was followed mid- year 2014 by Hitachi’s introduction of their S K-UHD4000 HDTV Studio, Field Production four-CMOS sensor Camera system.
