Color Correction

When allowing your application to manage color matching, color correction in the driver must be disabled or unpredictable results may occur. Follow the steps below to turn color correction from the driver off:

After confirming that the cable is connected and the printer is powered on, perform the following to adjust the color correction method.

Note: The steps immediately below are for Mac OS X version 10.5.x. Click here Mac OS X 10.4.x instructions.

 

  1. Select 'Print' from the File menu to open the Print dialog.


     
  2. In the Printer pop-up menu, select the printer you are using.
     
  3. In the third pop-up menu, select 'Color Matching'.

    Note: In Mac OS X 10.5, you may need to expand the print window by clicking the down arrow as shown below:


     
  4. Select 'Color Sync' to perform color correction from the application instead of the driver.

    Note: If the 'Color Matching' options are unavailable and grayed out, the application you are using is automatically disabling the printer driver's color management.

     

Mac OS X 10.4.x

  1. Select 'Print' from the File menu to open the Print dialog.


     
  2. In the Printer pop-up menu, select the printer you are using.
     
  3. In the third pop-up menu, select 'Color Options'.


     
  4. Change the settings of 'Color Correction' pop-up menu to change the color correction method.



    Color Correction


    Select one correction method from the following:
    Driver Matching : Color correction will be performed using the printer driver when printing.

    ColorSync: Color correction will be performed using ColorSync when printing.

    None: Color correction will not be performed using the printer driver.Use this setting when setting managing color from an application.
