How to activate the modeling light feature on the Speedlite via the EOS 1Ds

Solution

By firing a modeling flash, you can see the shadows and other flash lighting effects produced by one or more Speedlites.
Make sure the camera and Speedlite are properly set for flash photography.

Press the camera's depth-of-field preview button.

  • The Speedlite 550EX fires at 70 Hz for 1 second.
