Solution

The VIXIA HF series only record High Definition video with 1080 lines of resolution (1920 x 1080 (FXP and MXP* modes only) or 1440 x 1080 actual pixels for all other modes). The camcorder can playback the video in either high definition 1080i mode or may be set to downconvert the footage for playback on standard definition NTSC compatible televisions.

Note: Downconversion is for playback only it does not alter the video recorded to the memory.

*MXP mode is only available on certain models.
