With Eye-Controlled Autofocus, you select the desired focusing point just by looking at it. The camera detects your eye movement and instantly senses which focusing point your eye is looking at and focuses at that point. However, since each person's eye differs depending on pupil size contact lens or eyeglass use, etc. the eye movement characteristics must be registered to calibrate the Eye-Controlled Autofocus feature
Eye-Controlled Autofocus Calibration
Calibration numbers 1~5 are provided allowing up to five different calibration setting to be stored in the camera for different usage conditions which can be classified by photographer or shooting location for example
- Hold the camera in the normal (horizontal) picture-taking position during the calibration procedure
- If performing the calibration procedure outdoors, keep the sun behind you
- During calibration do not take your eye off the viewfinder until the calibration is completed

Turn the command dial to the "CAL" position
- "OFF" is displayed in the LCD panel
Turn the main dial to the desired calibration number
- Numbers which do not yet contain calibration settings blink in the display
While holding the camera to you eye, look at the blinking far right AF frame in the viewfinder and press the shutter button.
- A double beep tone is heard *
Next look at the blinking far left AF frame in the viewfinder and press the shutter button again
- A double beep tone is heard and "END" and the calibration number are displayed in the viewfinder and the LCD panel to indicate that the calibration procedure is complete
- If the calibration procedure is interrupted for a short period and the red AF frame in the viewfinder goes out, press the shutter button halfway and start again from step 3
* If an intermittent beep tone is heard and the calibration number blinks, temporarily move the command dial to a position other than CAL repeat the calibration procedure from step 1
