Description

DVD's burned with the DW-100 from AVCHD camcorders will only playback in AVCHD compatible players or the DW-100

Solution

DVD's created with your VIXIA series AVCHD camcorder and the DW-100 DVD burner are recorded using the AVCHD standard for high definition video. These discs are not compatible with standard DVD players. These discs may be played back by connecting the DW-100 to your VIXIA series camcorder and then connecting the camcorder to the television or they may be played in most Blu-Ray disc players.

Standard definition DVD's cannot be created from video recorded by many VIXIA AVCHD camcorders*.

The Pixela ImageMixer 3SE or Corel Applications software packages bundled with your camcorder can perform high definition to standard definition conversion when used with computers meeting the requirements to perform these operations.

  • DVD media containing AVCHD footage should only be used in AVCHD compatible players otherwise the DVD player may fail to eject the media and may erase its contents without warning.
  • DVD's containing AVCHD video when loaded into a computer without proper playback software may appear to the computer as blank or unrecognizable discs.

*Many 2010 and later modes offer a option to downconvert HD video and save this video as a standard definition video file which may be recorded by the DW-100 for playback in a standard DVD player. Please refer to the users manual of your camcorder for more information regarding this feature.
