Solution

Follow the steps below to remove a paper jam from your printer.

Before you begin

To turn off the printer and remove a paper jam, press the Resume/Cancel button to cancel print jobs. Then turn off the printer.

Paper jam in the paper output slot or the rear tray

  1. Slowly pull the paper out from the auto sheet feeder (up arrow) or from the paper output slot (down arrow).

  2. If the paper tears and a piece remains inside the printer, open the top cover and remove it.

Be careful not to touch the components inside the printer or you may damage them.

  3. After you remove all paper, close the top cover. Next, turn the printer off and then back on.

  4. Turn the printer off and back on if you can't pull the paper out. The paper will eject automatically.

  5. Reload the paper into the printer, and press the Resume/Cancel button.

  6. If you turn off the printer, all print jobs in the queue are canceled. Reprint if necessary.
