Procedure for setting ISO PowerShot G10.

Solution

Changing the ISO Speed

Change the ISO speed when shooting in dark places or when you want to shoot with a faster shutter speed. You can choose from the following speeds: Auto, HI Auto, 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600 and 3200. While you can select between Auto and HI Auto in the basic shooting modes, the selectable ISO speed are only available in P, Tv, Av, and M modes.

This feature is only available in the creative zone modes: P, Tv, Av and M.

1. Power the Camera on in the Shooting Mode.

2. Use the top ISO Control Dial to control your ISO selection. (In the Basic or Auto modes, the ISO is selectable between Auto, and HI Auto, any numerical ISO value selected in the camera auto modes will revert the camera setting to Auto ISO).

  • When selecting a settable ISO speed, the ISO speed lamp will blink orange.
  • Selecting ISO AUTO sets the optimal ISO speed according to the light level when shooting. Since the ISO speed setting will automatically be raised in dark places, the camera will select a faster shutter speed and reduce the chances of camera shake.
  • Selecting ISO HI (High ISO Auto)* sets a higher sensitivity than for ISO AUTO. As the shutter speed becomes even faster, camera shake and blurred photos caused by subject movement will be reduced even more than when shooting the same scene in ISO AUTO it also detects motion and sets the optimum ISO speed for the situation.
    * Noise may increase in the captured image compared to ISO AUTO.
