Information regarding use of Canon Intelligent Li-ion batteries

Solution

  • Turn off the camcorder before connecting/disconnecting the compact power adapter or when recharging the battery. After pressing <ON/OFF> to turn off the camcorder, important data is updated in the memory. Be sure to wait until the <POWER> indicator turns off.
  • We recommend charging the battery pack in temperatures between 10o and 30o C (50o and 86o F). Outside the temperature range of 0o to 40o C (32o to 104o F), the charging will not start.
  • Charged battery packs continue to discharge naturally. Therefore, charge them on the day of use, or the day before, to ensure a full charge.
  • Attach the terminal cover whenever a battery pack is not in use. Contact with metallic objects may cause a short circuit and damage the battery pack. Dirty terminals may cause a poor contact between the battery pack and the camcorder.
  • Battery packs that are not genuine Intelligent Li-ion battery packs will not be charged even if you attach them to camcorders compatible with Intelligent System* or to the optional CG-800 Battery Charger.
* When you use battery packs bearing the Intelligent System mark, the camcorder will communicate with the battery and display the remaining usage time (accurate to 1 minute).
