Uninstall and Reinstall the Printer Driver (Windows Vista)

Follow the steps below to uninstall the printer driver:

note:

If the installer was forced to be terminated due to a Windows error, the system may be in an unstable condition and you may not be able to install the driver. Restart your computer before reinstalling.

  1. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer.

  2. Select the printer to be deleted

    Select the Start menu -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Printers.

    Click the model to delete, then press the Alt key on your keyboard. On the File menu, click Delete.

  3. Delete the printer

    -When the User Account Control dialog box appears, click Continue. Then when the confirmation message appears, click Yes.

    The icon is deleted.

  4. The removal of the printer driver is complete.

    important:

    You may not be able to delete the printer driver properly from the Installed printer drivers list. If this happens, restart your computer, and try again.

Follow the steps below to reinstall the printer driver:

  • Quit all running applications before installation.
  • You need to log on as the administrator (or a member of the Administrators group).
  • Do not switch users during the installation process.
  1. Connect the printer cable to the printer and the computer. Make sure the printer is powered on.

  2. The printer driver is included in Windows Vista, so the installation will begin automatically. Follow any on-screen instruction to complete the installation.
