Description

With some applications, the paper source during printing may differ from the driver settings.  This may cause the paper to get pulled from a paper source that you do not want to use.  For example, if you have plain paper loaded in the cassette, the printer may try to pull from the rear tray.

Solution

Change the print feed method in the application

Some applications, such as Microsoft Word, have a 'Paper Source' setting listed in their 'Page Setup' dialogue box. The setting listed in the application's 'Page Setup' will take priority over the setting set in the driver.

This can cause paper to pull from the wrong source. Follow the steps below to toggle the Disable the paper source setting of the application software setting.

  1. Open the printer driver setup window.
    1. Select the command you perform printing on the application software in use.
In general, select Print on the File menu to open the Print dialog box.
    2. Select your model name and click 'Preferences' (or 'Properties').
The printer driver setup window appears.

Note: Depending on application software you use, command names or menu names may vary and there may be more steps. For details, refer to the user's manual of your application software.
