Description

Importing the " custom media information file (.am1) " into your printer.

Solution

Follow these steps to import (install) a custom media information file (.am1):

DO NOT install a custom media file when the printer is printing!

  1. Turn the printer on and launch the "Media Configuration Tool".

  2. Click the "Add Custom Paper" icon.

  3. Click the "Import" dialog button.

  4. Select the printer that you want to use and then click "Next".

  5. Click "Browse".

  6. Locate the file you want to import, and then click "Open".

  7. Click "Next" and wait for the software to fully install the custom media.

Be sure to match the correct ICC profile with the custom media.

When you successfully import the "custom media information files (.am1)" into your printer, the description will be abbreviated; i.e. "Water Resistant" will be "WR", "Scratch Resistant" will be "SR" and "High Color Gamut" will be "HCG". The description will NOT be abbreviated in the print driver.
