You can often correct print issues or clear an error when you reseat the print head.
Reseat the Print Head
-
Turn the printer ON.
-
Gently lift the scanning unit (printer cover) all the way. The print head moves to the replacement position.

-
Remove the ink tanks one at a time. Push the tab (A) and lift the tank to remove.
Don't touch the print head lock lever (B).

-
Raise the print head lock lever. Tilt the print head slightly towards the front of the machine and gently lift it out (see image slide show below).

Don't touch the print head nozzles (1), electrical contacts (2), or ink supply ports (3). If you do, it may cause printing problems.

-
Place the print head in the print head holder and carefully lower the print head lock lever until you hear a click (see image slide show below).

- Reinsert the ink tanks one at a time. Press the PUSH mark on the ink tank until you hear a click (see image slide show below).
-
Close the inner cover and the scanning unit (printer cover). Be careful not to jam your fingers.
The print head begins an automatic cleaning when you start the next print task. Wait for it to finish.
