Supported memory cards for use with the VIXIA HF S20, HF S200, and HF S21

Solution

You can use commercially available SDHC (SD high capacity) memory cards and SD memory cards with this camcorder. However, depending on the memory card, you may not be able to record movies. Refer to the table below.

We recommend using memory cards with a Speed Class of 4, 6 or 10.

As or 8/31/10 a firmware update has been made available which will allow these models to support SDXC type memory cards. These cards offer capacities greater than 32GB. About the SD Speed Class:

The SD Speed Class is a standard that indicates the minimum guaranteed data transfer speed of SD/SDHC memory cards. When you buy a new memory card, look for the Speed Class logo on the package.
