Description

How to link an AF point to camera orientation on the EOS 7D.

Solution

To set the orientation linked AF point:

  1. Press MENU.
  2. Go to the CUSTOM FUNCTION tab.
  3. Select Function Group III: AUTOFOCUS/DRIVE and press SET.
  4. Select setting 12 and press SET.
  5. Select 1: SELECT DIFFERENT AF POINTS and press SET.
  6. Press MENU to exit the menu.
  7. Place the camera in a horizontal position and press the QUICK CONTROL button.
  8. Go to the AF POINT setting, select MANUAL SELECT: AF POINT SELECTION, and press SET.
  9. Select the AF point for the horizontal position.
  10. Press the QUICK CONTROL button to exit the menu.
  11. Change the camera to the vertical position and press the QUICK CONTROL button.
  12. Go to the AF POINT setting, select MANUAL SELECT: AF POINT SELECTION, and press SET.
  13. Select the AF point for the vertical position.
