Description

To disable access to the USB ports, follow these steps.

Solution

While it is not possible to physically disable the USB ports of the ScanFront 300 series, it is possible to restrict access to the ports by all users.

To restrict access to the USB ports for the default user, follow these steps:

  1. In the Remote UI, select "User Administration".
NOTE: To access the Remote UI, open a web browser and then enter the IP address of the scanner. Enter the password (if one is setup), and then press "Login".

  2. Put a check mark in the box next to "Default User" and then click on the "Functional Restriction" button at the top.

  3. Uncheck "Permit to send to USB Memory", and then click the "OK" button.

This process is the same for individual users as it is for the default user. With individual users, you will need to repeat this process for each individual that you wish to restrict access to the USB ports to.
