Solution

To check the firmware version please follow the procedure detailed below.

  1. Connect a charged battery or the compact power adapter.
  2. Turn the power dial to VCR/PLAY mode.
  3. Set the [TAPE/CARD] switch to CARD.
  4. Press the [MENU] button.
  5. Use the select wheel to choose [SYSTEM] and press [SET].
  6. Select [FIRMWARE UPDATE] and press [SET] to display the firmware version.

    - The most current firmware version is 1.0.3 for users without the 6X wide zoom lens.
    - Firmware version 1.0.4 offers the same functionality and adds support for the 6X wide zoom lens.
