Learn how to manage the PIXMA Pro9500 Mark II printer functions from a Windows PC.

Solution

You may need to open the printer (driver) setup window to perform various printer maintenance functions or to adjust print settings.

You can open the printer setup window in two ways:

  1. From your printer application.
  2. From the printer icon.

1. Open the setup window from your printer application

  1. Open your printer application software. In general, select Print on the File menu to open the dialog box.

  2. Select your model name, then Preferences or Properties. The printer driver setup window appears.

Note Command names or menu names may vary and there may be more steps. For details, refer to the instructions for your application software.

2. Open the setup window from your printer icon

  1. Select the option that matches your Window's operating system:

    • Windows 10 - from the Desktop, select the Start menu > Devices > Scroll down to Devices and Printers.
Or, depending on version, select the search icon, type "Devices" > Devices and Printers.

    • Windows 8.1 or Windows 8 - press the Windows key, press the "X" key > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers.

    • Windows 7 - select the Start menu > Devices and Printers.

    • Windows Vista - select the Start menu > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Printers.

    • Windows XP - select the Start menu > Control Panel > Printers and Other Hardware > Printers and Faxes.

  2. Right-click your printer model icon, and then select Printing preferences from the menu. The printer driver setup window appears.

Note Opening the printer driver setup window through Printer properties (Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7) or Properties (Windows Vista, Windows XP) displays tabs for Windows functions, like the Ports (or Advanced) tab. Those tabs don't appear when opening through Printing preferences or application software. For tabs regarding Windows functions, refer to the user's manual for Windows.
