LED Display and Basic Operations - MG3120 / MG3122

Solution

You can use the machine to make copies or perform maintenance operations without a computer.

This section describes the LED (Light Emitting Diode) display and basic operations on the operation panel.

The number 1 is displayed on the LED normally when turning on the power.

The LED display indicates the machine status as follows.

While the paper output cover is open

The FINE cartridge holder is being moved to the replacement position.

The machine is getting ready for FINE cartridge replacement.

The head cover is opened and the FINE cartridge holder stops in place.

While setting up for wireless LAN connection

Setup is in progress.

The display returns to the copy standby mode after about 3 seconds.

Number of Copies

When copying starts, the specified number of copies is displayed on the LED. While copying is in progress, the number on the LED flashes and decreases by one to indicate the remaining number of copies to be made.

Each time you press the [+] button, the number on the LED increases by one. When F is displayed, the number of copies is set to "20". Press the [+] button again to return to "1".

Maintenance Codes

To perform maintenance of the machine, press the (Maintenance) button repeatedly until the desired code is displayed on the LED, and then press the Color or Black button.

Switches the machine to quiet mode to minimize operating noise.

About Quiet setting

Switches the size of paper loaded in the front tray between A4 and 8.5" x 11" (Letter).

(This setting is used for making copies.)

Sets the machine to prevent paper abrasion.

Paper Is Smudged/Printed Surface Is Scratched

Sets the machine not to feed two or more sheets of plain paper at a time.

When an error occurs, E and numbers are displayed in order on the LED to indicate the error code.
