Troubleshoot printer not detected issue by disabling iPv6 in network LAN settings (LCD models only)

Description

Learn how to disable IPv6 in the network settings to fix printer not detected issue on printers that have an LCD operation panel screen.

Solution


Printer not detected

  • If your printer is not detected during wireless setup, check that the wireless LAN connection is active.
  • If the connection is active, but IPv4 address is blank, it's possible that an IP address has not been assigned (see example, below).

Possible solution - disable IPv6

If the connection is Active but there is no IP address listed, try following the steps below to disable IPv6 in the printer settings to see if resolves the issue.

  1. Navigate to LAN settings -> Other settings -> TCP/IP settings -> IPv6 
  2. Select Enable / disable IPv6 and set it to Disable
  3. Press the OK button and check to see if the printer is detected properly.
