Decorating scenes at the time of shooting

Solution

Add a new level of enjoyment to your scenes by decorating them. You can add animated graphics, stamps and even your own freehand drawing easily just by simply using your fingertip. You can also add decorations when you convert movies to MP4

IMPORTANT
  • When the [Camera Mode] is set to [ ] (Cinema), this setting cannot be made.
  • Please make the setting in [ ] (Auto), [ ] (Baby) mode, [ ] (Special Scene), or (Program AE).
  • Decoration is not available when dual recording is activated or the video quality is set to 60P/50P or 35 Mbps.

Decorating Scenes while Recording

1. Turn on the camcorder.

2. Touch [ ].

3. Drag your finger left/right to bring the [Main Functions] menu to the center, and then touch the icon to open it.

4. Drag your finger up or down, and then touch [Decoration].

5. The decoration mode screen appears.
On the decoration screen, there is a canvas where you can draw freely, and a toolbar with tools lined up for creating your drawings.
Select the tool you want to use from the toolbar, and make drawings on the canvas.

Date/Time / Baby modeAdd the date and/or time as a caption that will be included in the recording. In Baby mode add stamps to track babys age, height and weight.

  • Minimize the toolbar.
Touch [ ]. Touch [ ] to restore the toolbar.
  • Pause the live video.
Touch [ ].
- You can add decorations to the frozen image and even record it.
- Touch [ ] to restore the live video.

6. Use a tool from the toolbar as explained in the following procedures.

7. Press <START/STOP> to record movies with your decorations.
  • You can add decorations even while recording a scene.

8. Touch [ ] to exit the decoration screen.

To use [Pens and Stamps]

You can select the color and type of pen for your drawings. You can also save your drawings and stamps as one canvas.

1. Touch [ ].

The [Pens and Stamps] screen will appear.

2. Select the desired pen or stamp from [Tools]
The main decoration screen will appear again.

  • Select Colors.
Touch [ ].
Alternatively, you can touch [ ] and select a color from the displayed colors.


3. Draw freely on the canvas with your fingertip.

NOTE
  • To clear your freehand drawings and stamps: Touch [ ] > [Clear] > [Yes] > [OK].
  • To use the eraser tool: Touch [ ] > [ ] or [ ] > [OK].
  • To save your freehand drawings and stamps: Touch [ ] > [ Save] > [Yes] > [OK].
- During playback, you will need to pause the playback before saving a canvas file.
- The freehand drawings and stamps will be saved in the built-in memory.
  • To load a previously saved canvas (freehand drawings and stamps only) from the memory: Touch [ ] > [ Load] > [Yes] > [OK].
- During playback, you will need to pause the playback before loading a previously saved canvas file.
Initializing a memory will erase any [Pens and Stamps] drawing canvas and image files you may have saved. (The image mix frames that come pre-installed in the built-in memory will be restored after it is initialized.)

To use [Animated Stamps]

When recording in Baby mode, you can use especially designed, baby-themed animated stamps.

1. Touch [ ].

2. The [Animated Stamps] screen will appear. Touch one of the control buttons and then touch [OK].

3. Touch anywhere on the canvas to place the selected animated stamp. You can also drag some animated stamps to a different location.

NOTE
[Animated Stamps] and the [Date/Time] or [ ] (Baby mode) stamps cannot be used at the same time.

To use [Date/Time]

1. Touch [ ].

2. Touch [Date] or [Time].
  • To remove a selected stamp, touch it again.

Touch [ ] to display the selected date and time in the center of the image.
You can touch any stamp and drag it to the desired location.

To use stamps from the [Baby] menu

During Baby mode and from the baby album, you can add stamps to the video to track babys height, weight and age. You can track the information of up to 3 babies.
NOTE
Set the recording mode to [ ].

1. Touch [ ].
The screen with stamps for Baby mode will appear.

2. Touch on of the options.

3. To register baby's birth date: Touch [ ] next to the baby's age button.

4. Touch to set babys date of birth.

5. To register baby's height or weight: Touch [ ] next to the button you wish to change.

6. Touch to set the height/weight.

7. Touch any of the buttons to add the corresponding stamp: [Date] (the current date), [Time] (the current time), and then touch [ ].

8. Touch the stamp, date or time and drag it to the desired location.
NOTE
For the age stamp, days will be displayed for 6 days after birth, weeks will be displayed from 1 week up to, but not including, 1 month; months will be displayed from 1 month up to, but not including, 1 year; years and months will be displayed from 1 year up to, but not including 2 years; and only years will be displayed from 2 years.

To use image mix

Image mix frames can be combined with the live video for fun special effects. You can use the image mix function along with additional [Pens and Stamps] or [Animated Stamps] decorations. The image mix frames are stored in the built-in memory. To use the image mix function while recording on a memory card, you will need to download the image mix files and copy them to the memory card in advance

1. Touch [ ] to open the [Select Image] screen.

2. Touch [ON].
  • Only when recording on or playing back scenes from a memory card: You can touch one of the memory icons at the bottom of the screen to read image mix frames saved on a different memory.

3. Touch [+] or [-] to select an image mix frame, then touch [OK].
  • The selected frame will be mixed with the live video.

NOTE
  • Before performing this procedure, make sure that the memory selected for recording or playback contains the image mix frames.
  • The image mix frame cannot be selected during recording or playback.

To add decorations to the frozen image during [pause live video].

1. Touch [ ].

  • The control button will change to [ ] and the picture will be frozen.
  • Decorate the screen using the tools in the palette.
  • Touch [ ] again to restore the live video.
  • In playback mode: Touch [ ] to resume playing back the scene.
