Description

This article shows how to connect your printer to a wireless network using the WPS Push button method.  Your wireless router must have a WPS Push button on it in order to make use of this connection method.

 

Solution

Wireless Setup Using WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup)

Before Starting Wireless Connection Setup


 Note
  • Make sure that the printer is turned on.
     
  • If the power is on, the (green) ON button (A) will be lit.

 

1. Press the [ Setup ] button (B) on the printer.

 

2. Use the or button (C) to select [ Wireless LAN setup ].  Then, press the OK button (D).
 
 
The (blue) Wi-Fi lamp (E) lights up when wireless connection is enabled.

 

3. 
 
When the screen left above is displayed, go to step 4.
 
When the screen right above is displayed, go to step 5.

 

4. 
 
Press and hold the WPS button on your wireless router.

-> Go to 8.

 

5. Select [ WPS ].  Then, press the [ OK ] button.
 

 

6. Select [ Push button method ].  Then, press the [ OK ] button.
 

 

7. Press and hold the WPS button on the wireless router.  For details on pressing the WPS button, refer to the wireless router manual.
 

 

8. Press the [ OK ] button on the printer within 2 minutes.  The (blue) Wi-Fi lamp on the printer flashes while searching for or connecting to the wireless router.

9. When the left screen appears, press the [ OK ] button.  Then, press the COPY button (F).

The wireless LAN setup using the WPS Push button method is completed.

Install the software.

If an Error Screen Appears
 
  • Multiple APs detected
 

The screen appears when connections are being attempted from multiple access points simultaneously.
Wait for a while, then configure WPS settings again. Press the WPS button on only one access point.

 

  • Failed to connect.


The screen appears when an error occurs.
Check the access point settings, then configure WPS settings again.

 

  • PIN codes do not match


 
The screen appears when WPS setup was not completed within a specified time.
Perform the setup again and set the new PIN code displayed on the screen to the access point.

 

  • Timeout error.


 
The screen appears when WPS setup was not completed within a specified time.
Is the network device (router, etc.) turned on? If the network device is already turned on, turn it off, then turn it back on.

 

  • Cannot connect with WPS.

Set up a wireless connection manually.
