If you receive an unknown error while scanning, it may be that the scanner is having trouble communicating with the computer.

Solution

If you receive an unknown error while scanning, it may be that the scanner is having trouble communicating with the computer. Check to make sure that you are using the USB cable provided with the scanner. The following is a list of things that should be avoided:

1. USB extension cables

2. USB cables other than the one provided

3. Plugging the USB cable into a hub (or the front port of a desktop computer)
