Description

The image in the viewfinder is blurred (captured images are in focus) (EOS 70D)

Solution

If the subject appears blurred (out of focus) when you look through the viewfinder, it may be necessary to change the dioptric adjustment setting to increase viewfinder clarity.
To change the dioptric adjustment setting, turn the knob shown in the image below left or right so that the AF points in the viewfinder look sharp.

NOTE
  • If the knob is difficult to turn, remove the eyecup.
  • The range of dioptric adjustment possible for EOS 70D is approximately -3.0 to +1.m-1dpt. If the camera dioptric adjustment still cannot provide a sharp viewfinder image, using E-series Dioptric Adjustment Lenses (sold separately) is recommended.
